Yesterday, the research hub of Erlangen welcomed Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär. During her visit, she was informed about current activities and research priorities in the fields of nanomedicine and quantum sensing with medical applications.
Prof. Alexiou, Head of SEON, Prof. Müller, Head of the ENT Department, and Prof. Nagy, Chair Holder of the Institute of Applied Quantum Technologies, presented ongoing research projects and technological developments to Minister Bär. The focus was on innovative approaches in nanomedicine as well as the use of quantum sensing in medical diagnostics and therapy.
In addition, an in-depth discussion took place on future technological perspectives. In particular, the participants addressed which scientific, structural, and political framework conditions are necessary to ensure that Erlangen remains a leading location in nanomedicine and quantum sensing with medical applications in the long term.
