Today Kim Ullericht joined our group as a new PhD student. During her PhD project she will investigate the coupling of a quantum computer, which is based on superconducting qubits, with a quantum network consisting of quantum memory nodes in 4H SiC. As the interface between the two quantum systems is emplemented by entangling them, she will investigate the entanglement of both quantum systems at millikelvin temperatures.

Kim Ullerich wrote her Master thesis at AQuT, which sparked her interest in quantum technologies. “I wanted to to extend my knowledge on this topic by doing my PhD in this field as well. Furthermore, I wanted to focus on quantum computing with my PhD which is why I chose the topic of the interface between quantum networks and quantum computers.”

We are happy to have Kim on board!
