Quantum Computing

Towards Silicon Vacancy centers based quantum memory nodes for a distributed quantum computing network in 4H-SiC

For the successful integration of quantum technological systems, like for instance optical quantum computers, quantum tokens and quantum sensors into a quantum internet of things it is vital to have quantum repeaters which mediate the exchange of information between various quantum nodes. Due to its excellent optical and spin properties [1], the V2 silicon vacancy center in 4H-SiC is a promising platform for this task. Within this project we aim at entangling such two single V2 centers. If the V2 centers are additionally coupled to nuclear spins within the SiC lattice, it will be possible to realize a distributed quantum computing network with integrated quantum memory nodes.
